Kids don’t always have the words to explain what’s going on inside. Instead, you might see changes in behavior, mood, sleep, school performance, or relationships.
Maybe your child seems more anxious lately. Maybe their big feelings feel bigger than usual. Or maybe something difficult happened, and you’re noticing the impact now.
Whatever brought you here, you’re in the right place. At Flourish Wellness, we offer therapy for kids that’s compassionate, developmentally appropriate, and designed to help your child feel safe, seen, and supported.
Children come to therapy for all kinds of reasons. Some need a space to process big emotions; others need tools for coping, confidence, and communication.
Anxiety, worries,
or overwhelm
Behavioral challenges
Emotional regulation difficulties
ADHD or attention challenges
Social skills, friendships, or bullying
Family stress or transitions
Grief, loss, or separation
Trauma, including early childhood trauma
Big life changes (moves, divorce, medical issues)
Children learn and communicate differently than adults, which means therapy needs to look and feel different too. At Flourish Wellness, we use a combination of:
.
Children process emotions through play. It helps them make sense of their experiences, build coping skills, and express what they may not have words for yet. We use a variety of techniques using play, art, and other creative expressions to help support your child!
Skills-based, age-appropriate strategies that help kids understand their feelings, manage behaviors, and build confidence, no matter what their need may be!
When a child has been through something overwhelming, we offer trauma-informed care that helps them feel safe, supported, and empowered. Your child will work with a trained childhood trauma therapist who understands how trauma impacts the brain and body through techniques such as TF-CBT and EMDR.
You’re a crucial part of your child’s healing. We offer parent check-ins and guidance so you feel equipped and supported throughout their therapy journey.
Depending on your child’s age, personality, and needs, sessions may include:
The goal is to help your child feel comfortable enough to explore their thoughts, learn new skills, and build trust with their therapist.
We offer child therapy in our Raleigh office, as well as online therapy for kids throughout NC. Virtual sessions can be especially helpful for older children and kids who feel more at ease in their own environment.
You don’t have to figure out the next steps alone. We’re here to support both you and your child through whatever you’re facing.
